A promotion
package for the release of an album, to include a music promo video, together
with two
of the following three options:
–A website homepage for the band.
–A digipak for
the album’s release.
–A
magazine advertisement for the digipak.
This video looked professional due to continuity being used. The action of the man drumming was in sync with the music, which also made it professional as it looks like he's producing the music himself. Furthermore, the video looks cinematic due to the colour treatment which is quite dull, but makes it look like a sunset. The miss-en-scene used is the location of the students back garden, which made it easier to film this music video due to the easy access and the time used to produce the media product.
This video looked professional due to the variety of camera angles and shots such as two-person mid-shot and extreme close-up's of the teenagers eyes and lips. Also, there was a use of continuity due to the outfits worn, however it is non-linear as there was an open narrative. The miss-en-scene used was the location of the town park, and the costumes worn were causal modern day clothes. The theories used are Mulvey's male gaze and Ann Gould's six stereotypes of youth, which are nihilistic; violent; sexual; artificial tribe and self destructive. For example, the props used such as alcohol and cigarettes to show that the teenagers were self destructive. The editing used were fast cuts, which increased the pace of the shots to make it sync with the non-diegetic music playing throughout the video. In addition, a fade was used at the end when the characters were walking out of the town park to inform the audience that the video is at an end as well as showing the company logo, which makes it professional.
Philo- hoodie cinema eg. walking into a children's park and vandalising it.
Butler-queer theory eg. two females kissing- two person mid-shot. medium shot of the pride flag being held.
Youth as fun/trouble eg. having fun in the park, staying up late at night drinking and smoking- close-ups and medium shots.
This video is based on a man who travels and everything is seen in his perspective, therefore many POV shots are used. In my opinion, I believe that this song choice would be a good idea due to my group and I using a go pro and do different activities and show aspects of our everyday lives to the target audience. For example, the journey to college and meeting up with peers.
This video is based on a man who is trying to escape reality whilst other people try to keep him alive. I believe that this is a good song choice because the lyrics to this song can be used for different narratives such as conflict within a relationship. The location of filming can be set anywhere which helps the group come up with an idea of a specific or variety of locations.
This song is based on a man who is heartbroken and is trying to win back his ex partner. I think that this song choice is a good idea due to the variety of narratives that can be used as well as finding a nearby location of a street and filming there.
This video is based on a woman who is trying to escape the struggles of her life by consuming drugs and being self destructive (Ann Gould). The reason that I chose this song was because it can help raise awareness to other teenagers or people struggling through life by producing a video of the different struggles that people go through and link it to a helpline for people to contact and receive advice from others. This can be filmed at a location of a house, local park etc. The lighting which may be used will be dim due to the dark lyrics used as well as the actions being shown in the video.

The protagonist then walks past conflict which is occurring between two random people in the public on the journey home near the town centre on the cycle tracks, and nearly gets involved as one of the people are pushed into them. When the main character gets home, Thorpe Park tickets are shown on the table with a note saying "pack up, we are leaving now" and looks up to another character standing towards the door prepared leave the house. The characters then travel to Thorpe Park by car. Eventually, the rest of the day is spent riding roller coasters, water rides and going to parties within the park.

A broken middle-aged man endures pain one more time to put the past to rest.
There is no music at the start of the video, just the faint ticking of a clock as the camera pans over the room, where it fixates on a phone for a brief second before it starts to buzz. The protagonist reaches over to his bed side cabinet and picks up the phone. He lays on his side in the bed before slowly sitting upright. The call is from an old friend he lost touch with long ago, the protagonists face is weary as if he has endured a long life. His eyes begin to tear up as he hears of the passing of his first love. As he stands in the dead of night over her grave to pay his respects, the music begins to play, he doesn't leave anything on her grave as the memories they had together are enough.
He walks down the lamp lit street where he sees his younger self place his coat round this young woman's shoulders before carrying her home. A smile begins to form on his face but it is quickly replaced with tears, followed by a frustrated kick out at the wall next to him. Recomposed he walks by the bridge over the lake where they used to walk their dog and where she later agreed to marry him. His older self stands on the bridge looking out over the empty meadow. There is then a moment of passion, where her hands can be seen scratching down his back and red marks can be seen. They then lie there in each others arms, the room lit by candle light, the bed a mess around them. The middle-aged man then stands in the room the bed is spotless and the only light that can be seen, comes from the alarm clock.
They get a letter from the bank to say their loan has been rejected, an argument ensues and she slams the photo of them onto the floor the frame smashes on impact. The man sits on his bed holding the broken frame in his hands and he pulls the photo out and puts it in his pocket. They fall further apart as he becomes aware of her new found reliance on drugs and alcohol, she becomes abusive towards him, hitting him in his sleep, stealing his money but he still feels the same about her. They finally break and she can be seen throwing the engagement ring across the lake. He falls to his knees crying, the middle-aged man can be seen kneeling too picking up a few pebbles in his hands and he begins to skim them across the lake.
He returns to the cemetery and to her grave, he takes out the photo from his jacket which he places down on her grave he walks away smiling, he can finally let the past go.

Overall, yes you are on the right track, the ideas that you are generating are good. The standard of analysis at this stage is good, you have considered how the video will be created. The Prezi has some spelling mistakes which need to be addressed.
